In Upper Key Stage 2, inclusion begins with strong, trusting relationships. The adults in Badgers take time to understand every child, ensuring that all pupils feel known, valued and safe. We celebrate diversity, recognise individual strengths and needs, and encourage every child to achieve their best.
Our classroom is designed to feel calm, warm and homely, with muted tones, natural materials and plants. Clear routines, a visual timetable and carefully considered seating arrangements help children to feel secure and ready to learn.
High-quality teaching is adapted for all pupils. Lessons are carefully planned and sequenced, with clear learning outcomes, accessible resources and appropriate levels of challenge. Children may benefit from pre-teaching, practical equipment, visual support, collaborative learning or additional adult guidance. Assessment and feedback are used throughout lessons so that learning can be revisited, adapted or extended when needed.
High expectations, consistent encouragement and regular praise create a positive learning environment in which children feel confident to contribute, make mistakes and “have a go”. We nurture independence while promoting peer support, mutual respect and compassion, preparing every child academically, socially and emotionally for the next stage of their education.
