"You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." — Christopher Robin
Badgers Class is home to our Year 5 and Year 6 children—the oldest pupils at Stelling Minnis! Our class teacher is Mrs Jessup.
Year 5 marks the beginning of the children’s Upper Key Stage 2 journey. During this year, they become increasingly independent and begin thinking about the next stage of their education, including exploring their secondary school options.
In Year 6, we support the children through their final year of primary school, helping them to grow in confidence, prepare for secondary school and celebrate everything they have achieved. We work closely with families and secondary schools to help make this transition as positive and successful as possible.
Our warm and spacious classroom has its own class library and outdoor space.
Our curriculum follows a two-year cycle and each year is shaped by three core concepts.
Year A :Impact and Power, Perception and Empathy, and Celebration and Change.
Year B: Resonsibility and Risk, Culture and Diversity and Reflection and Legacy.
Being part of Badgers is an exciting and important stage in the children’s school journey. As the oldest pupils, they are encouraged to become confident role models and take on additional responsibilities—from sitting on the benches during collective worship to leading fundraising activities and making a positive contribution to school life. Every Badger is a shining star.
